My intention is to change the way you experience healthcare. My goal is for you to feel safe and to feel heard. Take a deep breath and let that thought wash over you. The experience is a breath of fresh air compared to other medical experiences you’ve had.

The bigger goal is for you to take the healthcare agency you learn and experience here and seek it wherever you go, with whatever doctor you see. (And take advantage of vetted resources.)

My office is a comfortable and safe space dedicated to your whole-person care.

Much of my approach is informed by what I experienced coming up through the traditional medical system – and wanting to offer expert care with a kinder, you-focused experience that uses your own insights to guide your care. It also influenced my choice to run a concierge practice where I could give my patients the time, attention and access they deserved.

I began my medical career in 1982 when I earned my nursing degree and began working in labor and delivery (L&D) at Providence Tarzana Medical Center. I met my husband, Dr. Dennis Perlow, there. He was an exemplary physician, OB/GYN and mentor to me throughout this journey. I modeled myself after these OB/GYNs: William Treiger MD, Peter Rubenstein MD and my dear husband. He remains the love of my life.

I worked night shifts in L&D, earning a Cellular and Molecular Biology Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge in 1997, followed by medical school at the Western University of Health Sciences, where I graduated at the top of my class with an award for dedication to women's health as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

If you’re not familiar, osteopathic medicine is a "whole person" approach to medicine—treating the entire person, rather than just the symptoms. With a focus on preventive health care, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) help patients develop attitudes and lifestyles that don't just fight illness but help prevent it, too.

And yes, an osteopath can prescribe medications and perform surgery. (I get that question a lot.)

In 2000, I became board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. (An overview of my medical credentials is here.)

My husband and I worked side-by-side in his practice until he retired in 2020, when I became CEO of Perlow Medical Corporation, which operates as Perlow Concierge Women’s Health.

A naturally curious, geeky, sciency person, I maintain memberships in multiple organizations that feed my soul and motivate me to be the best physician I can be, including:

I’m inspired by The Foundation for a Better Life and its Pass It On campaign, and I am a proud supporter of California State University, Northridge.

And, of course, I am a proud supporter of my son Sam, the musician, music producer and songwriter. You can find him on Instagram @samxsongs.

Together with my staff and patients, we’re changing the way women’s healthcare is delivered.

Onward and Upward!

Resources Dr. Perlow Loves

I absolutely love these apps and recommend them to my patients and their families all the time:

  • Headspace App
A playful way of introducing meditation and mindfulness without pressure. I literally have used it every day since 2020.

  • The I Am app
Daily affirmations delivered to your phone.

  • Clue Period & Ovulation Tracker
There are 10,000 apps on Google Play and the Apple App Store for tracking periods. This is the only one that is physician peer-reviewed. Only 20 of those 10,000 apps get the cycle right. This is one of them.
